Deanery Masses of Welcome

During the month of September, a Mass of Welcome and Reception for Bishop Thomas John Paprocki will be held in each of the seven deaneries of the Springfield diocese. Collections taken at the Masses of Welcome will benefit Catholic Charities of the Springfield diocese.

Great River TEC offers retreats for students, young people

Five Teens Encounter Christ (TEC) retreats are planned by Great River TEC over February, March and April at the Franciscan Retreat Center of Quincy University.

Mini-TEC #55, a fun-filled weekend experience for anyone who has already made a TEC, will be held Feb. 12-13, from 6 p.m. Friday to 9 p.m. Saturday. Cost is $40. It is directed by Paul Korte.

TEC #264 is a weekend for youths between the ages of 16 and 21 to experience being part of a vibrant, loving and supportive faith community where Jesus comes alive. It will be held March 6-8, from 9:30 a.m. Saturday to 6:30 p.m. Monday. It will be directed by Erin Siebers. Cost is $75 for ages 16-21 and $100 for those 22 and over.

TEC #265 will be held April 10-12, with the same participant age requirements, time schedule and fee costs. It will be directed by John and Patty Scranton. Applications for either TEC #264 or TEC #265 are available by contacting Jim and Dianne Deters at (217) 224-8340 or from the TEC Web site.
