40 Days for Life returns to Springfield beginning March 1 and will feature “40 days of prayer, fasting, peaceful vigil and community outreach,” according to Claudia Connelly, local coordinator. “We pray that these efforts will help mark the beginning of the end of abortion in Springfield.”
The time frame (this year March 1-April 9) is drawn from examples throughout Biblical history. It will feature a 40-day vigil in the public right-of-way outside of Planned Parenthood, 601 N. Bruns Lane in Springfield. Bishop Thomas John Paprocki will lead the prayer vigil on March 22 at 12 noon.
“40 Days for Life has generated proven life-saving results since its beginning in 2007,” said Shawn Carney, national campaign director of 40 Days for Life.
