Long-time Decatur Catholic educator to retire this month

Lowell BrosamerDECATUR — Lowell Brosamer will bring to a close later this month 35 years as an administrator at St. Teresa High School in Decatur.

Brosamer retires March 30 as chief executive of the school’s education foundation for the past 17 years. Prior to that he was principal at St. Teresa from 1981 through 1999.

“He has represented St. Teresa with dignity and enthusiasm for many years,” said Kenneth Hendrikson, chief executive officer. “His wealth of knowledge and experience has certainly helped me.”

Brosamer began his teaching career in 1957 at Marquette High School in Alton where he later served as assistant principal and principal beginning in 1980. He also served for a time as an administrator at the then-Griffin High School in Springfield.
