LITCHFIELD — Holy Family Parish, located at 410 S. State in Litchfield, will hold a Lenten mission on March 26, 27 and 28, beginning at 7 p.m. each evening.
The speaker will be the Father Denis Robinson, OSB, president-rector of Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology, located in St. Meinrad, Ind. His topic will be “Renewing the American Parish: Trajectories for the Future.”
The parish is the backbone of the church, and yet many parishes today are struggling for numbers, programs and money. What is the future of the American parish and how can we help realize it? This program will consider a number of trends and offer at least a few possible answers to the questions we have today.

A Mississippi native, Father Denis attended Saint Meinrad College and School of Theology, earning a bachelor’s degree in philosophy in 1989 and a Master of Divinity in 1993. From 1993-1996, he was parochial vicar for the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Memphis, Tenn.
He joined the Saint Meinrad monastery in August 1996. Father Denis also attended the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium, where he received a master’s degree in theology in 2002, a licentiate in sacred theology in 2003, and doctorates in sacred theology and philosophy in 2007.
