EFFINGHAM — HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital’s Wound Healing Center has again been recognized nationally with two awards for its clinical excellence and patient satisfaction. The awards were presented by Healogics, the largest provider of advanced wound care services.

The Center recently received the Robert A. Warriner III, M.D. Center of Excellence Award, for meeting the highest quality standards for the sixth year in a row. The award is named for Warriner, a pioneer in wound care and the former chief medical officer for Healogics.

The Center also received the Center of Distinction Award for the seventh consecutive year. The Center achieved outstanding clinical outcomes for 12 consecutive months for patient satisfaction, wound healing rate and other quality standards. Only 334 achieved the honor.

“It takes a certain level of dedication, commitment and talent to achieve this level of exceptional care year after year,” said Jeff Brummer, D.O., medical director of St. Anthony’s Wound Healing Center.

St. Anthony’s Wound Healing Center, a member of Healogics’ network of over 750 centers, has cared for over 2,800 patients from the region.

“You don’t have to travel to Chicago or St. Louis to have nationally-ranked wound care … you can get hope and healing in Effingham,” said Tammy Probst, director of Rehabilitation and Wellness Services.

Patients can be referred by their family doctors or can refer themselves by making an appointment at (217) 347-3565.
