Sister M. Christella Misch, OSF, age 98, of the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis died March 5 at St. Francis Convent, Springfield.
PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Sister Joan Albaugh, CDP, formerly known as Sister Mary Donald, of McCandless Township, Pa., died there on Dec. 24.
ST. LOUIS — Father Joseph Benedict Hagen, OFM, a member of Sacred Heart Province of the Order of Friars Minor (Franciscans) died at the age of 91 on Dec. 13, 2011 in a St. Louis hospital.
Sister Peter Damien Vekich, a Dominican Sister of Springfield since 1946, died Dec. 15, 2011.
ALTON — Sister Mary Ann Haug, CDP, age 97, died Dec. 4 at Saint Clare's Villa in Alton. Formerly known as Dorothy Barbara Haug, Sister Mary Ann spent all of her active ministry in education, including four pivotal years in the 1950s as novice mistress for the Sisters of Divine Providence in St. Louis.
ALTON — Sister Monica Marie Hibberd, OSU, died Nov. 26 at the Ursuline Queen of Peace Infirmary in Alton.
Father Dismas Bonner, OFM, passed away on Nov. 13 at Loretto Home at the motherhouse of the Franciscan Sisters in Springfield. He had been suffering with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
ST. LOUIS — Sister Dolore Gerau, SSND, died Nov. 8 at Anna House at The Sarah Community in Bridgeton, Mo., from complications from a stroke. She was 92 and a former teacher and secretary.
QUINCY — Father John Joseph Lakers, a Franciscan friar of Sacred Heart Province, died at Holy Cross Friary in Quincy on Nov. 4, two days following his 81st birthday. He had been fighting a long battle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and congestive heart failure.
JOLIET — Sister Marie Grunloh, OSF (Sister Euphemia) died at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home on Oct. 18. Sister Marie was a treasured member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate (Joliet) for 74 years.
Gilbert Rimaz of Switzerland died suddenly Oct. 11. He is the father of Father Dominic Rimaz, parochial vicar of St. Anthony of Padua and Sacred Heart parishes, Effingham, and Annunciation Parish, Shumway.
Services were held in Switzerland.
Father J. Michael Jenkins, a priest of the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois, died Sept. 21 at his home in Decatur.
Father Thomas G. Langenfeld, CSV, died Oct. 1 in Las Vegas, Nev., as the result of an accidental fall. He was 79 years old.
PALATINE — Father Patrick J. Durkin, CSV, passed away on Aug. 14 at St. Joseph's Home for the Elderly here at age 85.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS — Father Thomas Wise, CSV, passed away on Aug. 11, after an extended illness. He was 85 years old and had been in hospice care at the province center.

Father Hugh W. Robbins, CSV, died May 23 at St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago, with residence at Little Sisters of the Poor St. Mary’s Home in Chicago. He was 85 years old.
Sister Marilyn Fischer, SFP, of the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor, died May 9 in her home in Manhattan, N.Y.
RUMA — Sister Eulogia Jansen, ASC, died April 16 at the Ruma Center of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ. She was 92 and had been an Adorer for 73 years.

Sister M. Leonette Clancy, OP, 91, a Dominican Sister of Springfield, died March 21. She was born to Mary Ann (Hough) and James Clancy in Chicago. She joined the Dominican Sisters in 1935.
Sister M. Renelle Brueggemann, OSF, 88, of the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis died April 1 at St. Francis Convent, Springfield.
Sister M. Gloria Hanley, 92, a Dominican Sister of Springfield, died March 12. She was born to John and Stella (Fox) in Jacksonville. She joined the Dominican Sisters in 1937.
Father Melchior Toczek, OFM, Franciscan friar and priest of Sacred Heart Province of the Order of Friars Minor, died at the age of 88 on March 13 at St. Joseph Home in Springfield.
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS — Father Charles L. Maranto, CSV died March 18 at Addolorata Villa Nursing Home in Wheeling, where he had been in hospice care. He was 88 years old.
