CARLINVILLE — All Catholic women and guests are invited to attend the 90th annual Springfield in Illinois Council of Catholic Women Convention to be held Wednesday, Sept. 26 at Ss. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church in Carlinville. Registration and a continental breakfast begin at 8 a.m. The convention runs from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This year’s theme is “Love and Peace.”
Bishop Thomas John Paprocki will concelebrate Mass with diocesan priests and new SDCCW board officers will be installed. The convention presenter will be Patty Schneier of the St. Louis Archdiocese. She will speak about unlocking and experiencing God’s boundless mercy and unlimited grace — and the overwhelming joy of being a Catholic. Since 2003 she has been a featured speaker at both Catholic conferences and parishes across the country.
Also at the convention, Vicky Quade, creator and author of Late Night Catechism, will present the interactive comedy “Mrs. O’Brien’s Guide to the Golden Rule.” In short, Mrs. O’Brien is in charge and has her opinions on just about everything!
The deadline to register for the convention with a $50 fee is Sept. 16. Late and on-site registration at the convention is $55. The clergy fee is $20. A continental breakfast and lunch are included in the registration fee.
