Sister M. Lois was born to Martin and Catherine Tyrrell Clennon in Philo. She joined the Springfield Dominicans in 1932. From 1934 Sister M. Lois ministered in elementary education. Illinois schools included: St. Barbara, Springfield; St. Mary, East Moline; St. Francis, Jerseyville; St. Mary, Mt. Sterling; Sacred Heart, Granite City; St. Lawrence, Penfield; St. Thomas, Newton; Sainte Marie Public School, Sainte Marie; St. Peter and Holy Angels, Aurora; St. Bernadette, Evergreen Park; St. Thomas, Philo and St. Charles, Hampshire. She also taught at St. Michael, Duluth, Minn., and Holy Rosary, Denver, Colo.
Sister M. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Sister M. Agatha; and brothers William and Howard. She is survived by her brothers Leo and John (wife Mary Rita) both of Philo; nieces, nephews and her Dominican sisters, one of whom is her niece, Sister Ann Clennon.
The funeral Mass was Dec. 14 at Sacred Heart Convent, with Father Peter Witchousky, OP, presiding. Commendation and burial was Dec. 15 in Calvary Cemetery, Springfield.
