She was born to Frances and Stella (Brown) Convery in Farmersville and joined the Springfield Dominicans in 1935.
Sister Agnes Eileen ministered for decades in Catholic elementary education. Illinois schools included: St. Norbert, Hardin; Ss. Peter and Paul, Cary; St. Thomas, Newton; St. Francis, Jerseyville; St. Mary, Paris; St. Thomas, Philo; St. Joseph, Bradley; St. John, Carrollton; Holy Angels, Aurora; St. Vincent DePaul, Peoria; St. Edward and St. Christina, Chicago; St. Dominic, Quincy; and St. Kevin, East Alton. She also taught at St. Michael, Duluth, Minn.; Sacred Heart, Brawley, Calif.; and Sacred Heart, San Diego, Calif. In addition to general education instruction, Sister Agnes Eileen was a musician conducting church choirs, playing the organ for Masses and also taught classroom music.
Sister Agnes Eileen was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother Jack; nieces, nephews, cousins and her Dominican Sisters.
The funeral Mass was held May 17 at Sacred Heart Convent, with Father Peter Witchousky, OP, presiding. Commendation and burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
