Sister M. Quinta Pampuch, 94, of the Hospital Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis died March 22 at St. Francis Convent, Springfield.
Sister Quinta, the former Anna Agnes Pampuch, was born in Bolko, Silesia, on Jan. 20, 1914, the daughter of Karl and Maria Przybilla Pampuch. She entered the congregation on Dec. 29, 1931, and professed her religious vows on Oct. 4, 1934.
Sister Quinta served the community as a cook and domestic worker at hospitals in Illinois and Wisconsin. She also served at St. Isabel's Mission in Lukachukai, Ariz., from 1954-1962 and at Our Lady of Fatima Mission in Chinle, Ariz., from 1971-1991. She retired to the motherhouse in 1991.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Karl, Teophile and Henry Pampuch; and four sisters, Viktoria Wieczorek, Gertrud Franke, Maria Meyer and Cacilia Schillo.
She is survived by several nieces and her Franciscan sisters with whom she shared her life for over 75 years.
The Eucharistic Celebration and Rite of Christian Burial was celebrated by Father Vincent Callahan, OFM, on March 26 in St. Clare of Assisi Adoration Chapel at the Motherhouse. Burial was in Crucifixion Hill Cemetery.
