Obituary - Sister Joselia Stroeder, SSSF

Sister Joselia Stroeder, SSSFCAMPBELLSPORT, Wis. — School Sister of St. Francis Joselia Stroeder died Aug. 31 at St. Joseph Convent in Campbellsport, age 95.

The daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Stroeder, she was born Aug. 6, 1915 in Mt. Carmel, N.D. She was received into the School Sisters of St. Francis on June 13, 1939 and made first profession of vows June 21, 1941 and final (perpetual) vows June 21, 1947.

Sister Joselia lived her religious ministry in Illinois, Wisconsin and Nebraska. In the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois, she served as homemaker at St. Margaret Mary Convent in Granite City (1978-1980) and served as a tutor at St. Margaret Mary School (1980-1986).

Sister Joselia is survived by a sister, Dorothy Strueby (Canada); friends; and the School Sisters of St. Francis.

A wake and Funeral Mass took place on Sept. 7 at St. Joseph Convent in Campbellsport, burial followed at Sisters’ Cemetery in Campbellsport.
