JACKSONVILLE — Routt Catholic High School seniors Ellie Abell, Kalleigh Burke and Madeline Fellhauer have been named 2017-18 Illinois State Scholars.
“The administration, faculty and staff are very proud of these young ladies. They have worked diligently over the last four years to reach their full academic potential,” said Routt Catholic Principal Nicholas Roscetti. “It is great to see them earn the recognition they deserve.”
These Routt students join the seniors who are chosen each year by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) based on a combination of exemplary ACT or SAT scores and class rank. All three students are members of the National Honor Society and the National English Honor Society at Routt Catholic.
Abell is the daughter of Jeff and Kristy Abell. She participates in basketball, swimming and track for RCHS. She is a member of the IHSA Student Advisory Committee and a volunteer for Big Brother, Big Sister. She plans to attend a four-year college or university after graduating.
Burke is the daughter of Jim and Laura Burke. She participates in volleyball, basketball, softball, Scholastic Bowl, Service Club, Ambassador Club and Student Council at RCHS. She is also a eucharistic minister for Our Saviour Parish and a member of 4H. She intends to attend a four-year college or university.
Fellhauer is the daughter of Suzanne Fellhauer and Kevin Dober, and Mike and Kim Anderson. She participates in volleyball, basketball and Student Council at RCHS. She is also a eucharistic minister for Our Saviour Parish. She plans to attend a four-year college or university.
