Jacksonville’s Father Meyer honored by state prison

Meyer TomJACKSONVILLE — Citing his “dedication and outstanding job,” the Jacksonville Correctional Center has honored Father Tom Meyer, pastor of Our Saviour Parish in Jacksonville, as an Honorary Volunteer of the Year.

Father Meyer also received the honor because “He is always willing as well as the Catholic volunteers to help the Chaplaincy Department and provide needed worship, teaching, and counsel service to the inmates in English and Spanish. Father Meyer is well respected in his community and does an outstanding job with his parishioners and training others who are in the ministries.”

Our Saviour Parish also hosted two training meetings at their welcome hall this year.
