Obituary - Sister M. Florian Naber, OP

She was born to John and Anne Roth Naber in Michael.  She joined the Springfield Dominicans in 1934.

From 1936 until 1984 Sister M. Florian primarily taught in elementary Catholic parish schools.  Illinois schools included: Sacred Heart, Pana; Our Lady of Grace and St. Walter; Chicago; St. Malachy, Rantoul; Ss. Peter and Paul, Cary; St. Francis, Jerseyville; St. Mary, Litchfield; St. Norbert, Hardin; Sacred Heart, Granite City. In Denver, she taught at Holy Rosary and was prioress at Salve Regina Home.

Sister Florian was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Lenore and brothers Florian and Marvin.  She is survived by her sister Dolores McCann of Jerseyville, nieces and nephews, friends and her Dominican Sisters.

The funeral Mass was Nov. 4 at Sacred Heart Convent, with Father Peter Witchousky, OP, presiding. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
